It’s 23 International Matches for Team India from Sep’17 to Dec’17

Post the recent BCCI’s Tours and Fixtures Committee meeting in Kolkata, it was announced that Team India is slated to play a whopping 23 international matches starting from September through the month of December 2017. The announcement also indicated that the team might postpone its South Africa tour to January 2018.

Amongst these 23 matches, the first set of 8 matches will be played against Australia in the months of September October. The series will see the teams battling it out in five ODIs and three T20 matches. The five ODIs will be played in Chennai, Bengaluru, Nagpur, Indore, and Kolkata. The three T20 matches, on the other hand, will be held at the grounds of Hyderabad, Ranchi, and Guwahati.

Next in line will be a series with trans-Tasmanian rivals New Zealand which is slated to comprise of as many as 3 ODI matches and an equal number of T20 matches. The series will commence from 22nd of October and end on 2nd November 2017. While the ODI matches will be hosted by Pune, Mumbai, and Kanpur, the T20 matches will be held in Delhi, Cuttack and Rajkot.

From November 15th, the Indian team will be seen playing against Team Sri Lanka, in a series of 3 Test Matches, 3 ODIs and an equal number of T20 matches. This series will come to an end on the eve of Christmas, on 24th December, thus wrapping up the calendar year for the Indian Team. The test Matches will be hosted by Kolkata, Delhi, and Nagpur, after which it will be the onus of Dharamsala, Mohali and Vizag to organise the three ODIs. Next, Thiruvananthapuram, Indore, and Mumbai will invite the South Asian Guests for the T20 internationals.

The announcement also suggested that the season will see two new venues. One, Barsapara in Assam and the other, Greenfield International Stadium in Trivandrum. While the former will host a T20 match against Australia, the latter is designated to host the short format match against Sri Lanka.

With all this in store for the Indian cricket fans, it will not be wrong to say, that the season of festivals will witness an unparalleled charm in the coming months. And the recent sweeping win of Team India over Sri Lanka in both Test-Series, as well as ODIs, the enthusiasm of the cricket fans will definitely be on a whole new level. For us mortals, we can play fantasy league cricket for cash and double our enjoyment.
