Ashes is one of the most watched test series of the world and both England and Australia have won equal number of times, 32 each. This 5-test series has been held 69 times with the 70th series being played currently in Australia. Australia won the first Test in Brisbane with 10 wickets and it looks like they are on the verge of winning the second as well. If Australia is able to post a total like their first innings score, there is no way England can chase it.
This would give Australia a 2 match lead in the series, and they would go in the third test as the happier team. The third test is scheduled to be held at Perth and England needs to step up big time and at least show some fighting spirit. Both England and Australia know that whoever wins Ashes would take the lead in the test series. Therefore, it is important for both the teams. Plus, Australia has the edge as it is being played on their home grounds.
Here is the test squad for the 3rd test match of the ashes:

Players to Watch and Match Prediction:
The pitch is clearly good for seamers and both the teams have excellent seamers. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon are having an excellent test series till now, and they are the key to Australia’s attack. The Aussies are not having much problem in the batting department either. David Warner and Steven Smith along with Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja are batting excellently. Even Cummins does wonders with the bat. Therefore, they are pretty much covered with both bat and bowl.
England, on the other hand, is having trouble in the batting department. Their bowling is excellent – it is just not better than Australian batting. Australians are batting with confidence, but England players lack that confidence. If they need to make some kind of impact in the game, they need to start exhibiting some kind of confidence in the game. The top order, including Joe Root, Cook and Stoneman, need to play longer spells with higher totals. Otherwise, it would be really difficult for the team to show some fighting spirit in the match.
Australia has dominated all the test matches till now and from the looks of it, they are going to dominate the third one as well. England is having trouble with their top order batting, and they need to do something about it as soon as possible, or they can forget this year’s ashes trophy.
Predicted Winner: Team Australia
