The Australia Tour of India for the year 2017 has begun and once again cricket fans are glued to their screens to see their favourite players wreak havoc on the rival teams. The Australia Tour commenced from 12th September and will go on till 13th October.
It is not going to be an easy task as the Australian cricket team has come all prepared with big hitters like Aaron Finch, David Warner and Steven Smith. The team also has some notable bowlers like Nathan Coulter-Nile and Kane Richardson.
The ODI matches started on 12th September (Tuesday). Three ODIs and one practice match have been played since then. The schedule of the ODI matches is as follows:
One Day Practice Match- This match was held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai between Indian Board Presidents XI and Australian cricket team on 12th September 2017. The visiting team Australia won the match by 103 runs.
1st ODI- The first one day international between India and Australia was held on 17th September 2017 (Sunday) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India won this ODI by 26 runs, according to DLS method.
2nd ODI- Another electrifying match was held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 21st September, 2017 (Thursday). This match was also won by India taking a 2-0 lead in the series. India won by 50 runs.
3rd ODI- Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore witnessed the third ODI match between Australia and India on 24th September, 2017 (Sunday). The Australian team put a total of 293 runs on the board and India comfortably chased down this total in 47.5 overs and again defeated Australia by 5 wickets.
4th ODI- The fourth ODI match is scheduled to be held on 28th September, 2017 (Thursday) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The stadium is known for its batting pitches and we can expect an explosive match here.
5th ODI- The city of Nagpur will be hosting the fifth ODI match at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground. Although India has won the ODI series by winning three out of five matches, if India wins the last two ODI as well, nobody would be able to knock them off the top position in ICC ODI rankings.
This is the shortest format of the game and certainly the most exciting one. Here is the schedule for the T20 between the two teams.
1st T20- The first T20 match will take place on 7th October (Saturday) at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Australia and India will both blast through the overs with the aim to be the winners.
2nd T20- The second T20 is scheduled at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on 10th October (Tuesday). The winning team will fight to keep the lead, while the loser from the first T20 will work doubly hard to salvage their reputation.
3rd T20- The last and definitely (fingers crossed) the most happening match is scheduled to take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on 13th October (Friday). Since this is going to be the T20 finale, fans should be ready to be on the edge of throughout.
Although the start has been devastating for the Australian team, we hope that the team will soon step up to the challenges and give the fans exciting matches that will be remembered for a long time.
