(2nd T20) India vs New Zealand Cricket Match: Preview & Prediction by Golden Jeeto

The second T20I between New Zealand and India is going to be held at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on 4th November. This is three days after the first T20I scheduled to be held on 1st November 2017. T20I is a fast paced game, therefore, it is one of the most popular formats of cricket. Both New Zealand and India have shown a lot of promise in this format and are certainly the top teams in cricket at this point.

With players like Tom Latham, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill and Shikhar Dhawan, we are definitely in for a treat. There will be some big shots and the stadium is going to light up with sixes and boundaries in all directions. But, do not underestimate the bowlers as they have been known to test even the best of the best. Players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Tim Southee, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mitchell Santner take wickets with real ease.

Ashish Nehra is out of the squad as he has announced his international cricket retirement. Virat would hopefully let Shreyas Iyer get a game in this series and if India registers a win in the first T20I, this match would probably be his international debut.

Players to Watch and Match Prediction:

As both Tom Latham and Martin Guptill are in form, their opening partnership is crucial for Black Caps to get a good start. Martin Guptill has struggled against Bhuvneshwar’s bowling, it would be exciting to watch him tackle that. The pace bowling attack for New Zealand i.e. Trent Boult and Tim Southee are going to be important to restrict India in the death overs.

If Indians register a win in the first T20I, this match will be interesting as with the pressure off, Kohli is likely to play Shreyas Iyer, a promising player in IPL matches. He might be the next big hitter who can strengthen India’s middle order. Other than him, the regulars – Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli – could post a huge total if they bat for at least 5 overs each. Even if these three go back to the pavilion early, India has a strong batting line-up with the likes of Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni down the order.

The outcome of this match totally depends on the 1st T20I, but the hosts are much more likely to win as the conditions are familiar and they have had a lot of luck in the past T20Is this year.

Predicted Winner: India (IN)
