The ODI series final was recently played on 17th December, 2017 and India clinched their 8th bilateral series win with exquisite performance. Sri Lanka is heavily depending on their bowling prowess as their batsmen aren’t able to stay on the ground for long. Apart from the experienced Upul Tharanga and Angelo Mathews, the rest of the team is having immense difficulty in making much of a difference on the scoreboard.
If Sri Lanka doesn’t learn from their mistakes in ODI, the T20I series would also go India’s way. The third and final T20I is scheduled to be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 24th December, 2017. The pitch of the ground offers help for both spinners and pacers, but as the match progresses, the pitch turns into more of a batting pitch. The venue is an excellent entertainer when it comes to T20I as the pitch is batting-friendly. We might be treated to a high scoring match if Sri Lankan batsmen find their nerve.

Players to Watch and Match Prediction:
Both Suranga Lakmal and Lasith Malinga have been rested for the T20I series. So, the Indians have next to no surprise when it comes to seam bowling. Akila Dananjaya is the only bowler left in the squad that has troubled Indian batsmen. If Sri Lankans want to win the T20I series, they need to strengthen their batting attack. Both the openers, Gunathilaka and Tharanga need to stay on crease for as long as possible. Niroshan Dickwella needs to play his game rather than trying to defend. Sri Lankans are going to play against one of the best T20I teams, so they need to step up big time if they plan to win.
Apart from the setback in Dharamshala, everything seems to go India’s way. Almost all batsmen in the squad are performing admirably. Shreyas Iyer, in particular, has been playing magnificently and the captain Rohit Sharma is one of the T20 specialists in the team. With Jasprit Bumrah in the death, even low totals have been defended by this team and attacking spinners like Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal, the team gets wickets well in time to choke the opposition. The fielding has been top notch and as compared to Sri Lanka, the Indian team is much fitter.
All these signs clearly point to a big win for the men in blue. Sri Lanka has a long way to go. They do have excellent players, but they lack the confidence and with changing captains, good leadership has also been hard. India is still the crowd favourite in winning the 3rd T20I as well as the overall series.
Predicted Winner: Team India (IN)
