The Royals will be hoping to get a slowish pitch with minimal spin so that the trio spinners of KKR Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla don’t cause problems for their batters. Usually, the ground curator provides the team with a slow pitch that often favors and benefits the Rajasthan batsmen.
Having said that, KKR is not a side that Royals should take lightly. They may have a weak bowling line up, but they have a star-studded batting lineup. So, the toss will decide who will amass runs batting first.
KKR has a small squad of just 19 players. Dinesh Karthik will be leading the side and there is no room for maneuvering with such a small team. Hence, it could be tough going for Kolkata Knight Riders, even though they have a strong batting line up. However, this does not mean that Rajasthan Royals have a better chance of winning. On the contrary, KKR may end up winning this match as the Royals don’t have too many players with international experience.
So, who will win? Well, here it goes – Kolkata Knight Riders will win this game, even though they may not make it to the playoffs. Here are the reasons:
Ajinkya Rahane will be captaining the side in the absence of Steve Smith.
Rahane is struggling in form and may not be able to inspire his team even with Heinrich Klaasen, Jaydev Unadkat and Ben Stokes in the team.
Dinesh Karthik will rely a lot on Chris Lynn to score runs at will and on Tom Curran to pick up wickets.
KKR also have two young seamers, Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who will support Sunil Narine, the spinner and pinch hitter.
However, Kuldeep Yadav who will help Kolkata Knight Riders win against Rajasthan Royals.
