The very first match of Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be played against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) this IPL 2019. The match will be held in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Monday, March 25th, 2019. Read on to find out who is most likely to win this match.
Rajasthan Royals, with sheer hard work over the previous seasons, have built an unbeatable team. By improving their bowing pace, middle-order and keeping their fans excited with their new pink jerseys, they are one of the most awaited teams to be seen in action. Let’s not forget, this time they have the Australian player – Steve Smith to plug-in all the team’s gaps with his experience. With new players like Oshane Thomas, Ashton Turner, Jaydev Unadkat, and Varun Aaron, they are nearly unbeatable. Surely, the opening partnership of Ajinkya Rahane and Joss Butler will last long, leaving the scoreboard continuously updating with Steve Smith, Sanju Samson and Ben Stokes following them in the middle-order. While fielding, they are backed up by Jaydev Unadkat, Jofra Archer and Dhawal Kulkarni with their own unique bowling attacks.
Meanwhile, the other team – KXIP can see a bright season. Their main advantage is their newly-formed 13 players’ team after the auctioning. With Chris Gayle in their team, miracles are sure to take place. Their top and upper-middle batting order have been secured along with Nicholas Pooran and K L Rahul. RR might find it hard to get around KXIP’s skipper Ravichandran Ashwin’s bowling attack supported by Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Varun Chakravarthy with great spin.
With batting and bowling all-rounders like Ben Stokes and Krishnappa Gowtham, RR has a well-packed team compared to KXIP. With the history of the pitch, no matter who wins the toss, RR are both good target-setters and run-chasers. A score of 165, with a good number of around 5 wickets in hand, it is never a difficult target for them. On the other hand, the new team is the only backup that the Kings have. With the previous season’s records, RR gave up only in the elimination round against KKR. They have also played around 17 matches with KXIP and won 10 of them.
