South Africa vs India, 1st Test Match , Jan’18 : Cricket Match Preview by Golden Jeeto
India is touring South Africa after a long time, and they look forward to maintaining their number in the one test position overseas too. All the matches in the past few months have prepared the Indian players for South Africa’s pitch conditions. The first match is going to be held at Newlands, Cape Town and it would start on 5th January 2018.
This isn’t a high scoring ground for the ball play games on the pitch. The batsmen have to be cautious when they play on this ground. The key to winning this test is consistency and resilience and South African players like Hashim Amla and Faf Du Plessis have plenty of resilience. Hashim Amla stayed and put for a long time when South Africa toured India the last time and that type of performance is expected of him in this clash as well.
This tour is going to be a real test for Indian pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma. It is going to be interesting to find out which bowlers are kept in Kohli’s eleven. Will he go with all the pacers or will he keep his star spinners Ashwin and Jadeja among the playing eleven? There are many combinations and Kohli’s going to go with the best possible one.
The Proteas are a formidable team and have the home advantage too. It is going to be tough to beat such a team with almost all players in form. Their batting power goes a long way down the order and even their bowlers can bat.
All these reasons clearly show the men in blue finally have a real challenge in front of them and if they emerge victorious, they would certainly be crowned as the best cricket team in the world.
