The Indian cricket team is currently touring South Africa, where they are scheduled to play 3 test matches, 6 one-day internationals and 3 T-20s between 5 Jan and 24 Feb. India has already lost the first test match in Newlands, Cape Town.
After a very successful stint back home for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli, it’s the first big overseas challenge. The Proteas are on home turf, which definitely gives them the advantage of the home crowd. The past tours of India to South Africa don’t indicate a good record in favour of the men in blue. This Indian team of young and determined players, many of whom are in their top form, would like to change these statistics forever.
The third test match of the series will happen at The Wanderers Stadium Johannesburg from January 24th. It was formerly known as Kent Park and has a seating capacity of 28,000. This stadium has earned the nickname of ‘Bullring’ because of the intimidating atmosphere it offers to the visitors.
The first game of 3-test match series has already gone in favour of the Proteas. Indians wanted to win the second match and thus take this third and the final match of the series into a series decider. They have the potential to do that, but what actually happens will be known only once the match starts.
