VIVO IPL 2018 will begin on 7 April, and already cricket fans want to know which team will win this time. Last year, the Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants played the finals, with Mumbai Indians winning the match and taking the cup home for a record third time.
Who will Win the IPL 2018?
Sunrisers Hyderabad have put together a strong team. With the likes of David Warner, Yusuf Pathan, Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson, the team has a strong batting line. All-rounders like Carlos Brathwaite and Shakib Al-Hasan can bat and bowl. Of course, the team’s weapon is Bhuveshwar Kumar along with Rashid Khan from Afghanistan.
Mumbai Indians are the defending champions and will be looking to win a record fourth time. They have Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya along with Kieron Pollard, JP Duminy to bat and score runs. The bowlers are Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Rahman and Pat Cummins. So, they could spoil Sunrisers’ party.
Rajasthan Royals is okay, though they don’t have batting depth and appear to lack a spearhead bowler. The top order depends on Ajinkye Rahane and Steve Smith, but the middle order is strong with Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Stuart Binny. Bowler is the major worry for the Royals and this could prevent them from winning the tournament.
Chennai Super Kings has some of the best batsmen in the world with MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, and Dwayne Bravo. Their bowling is strong with Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Sing and Shane Watson. However, the team lacks batting depth in the top order.
King XI Punjab have got a nice mix of youthfulness and experience, with Aaron Finch, Chris Gayle and Yuvraj Singh. However, the bowling is not very strong. So, don’t expect them to walk away this year with the cup unless a youngster performs in all their matches.
Delhi Daredevils have a balanced team, but do not have great openers. This will work against them and prevent the Daredevils from winning the tournament. While they do have Gautam Gambhi, Jason Roy and Colin Munro to perform with the bat, they still need to shore up their top order. Bowling is not a problem with Kagiso Rabada and Chris Morris. Mohammed Shami may not play due to ongoing legal hassles due to personal problems.
Kolkata Knight Riders are bound to struggle with their batting. They don’t have real top order batsmen to score runs and this will come back to haunt them. Of course, their bowling is superb, but expect the Knight Riders to be at the bottom end of the table.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking to perform well after a disappointing 2017 season. They have the best side with the likes of Virat Kohli, Brendon McCallum, Chris Woakes, Sarfaraz Khan and AB de Villiers. The Royal Challengers will depend on Kohli to bring the best out of their talented players and there is no dearth of just players in the team.
